Here is my first attempt &#8220;La Belle Dame Sans Merci&#8221; by John Keats. I visited his grave in the Protestant Cemetery in Rome. It was a strange and spiritual experience! I recorded this at home using Cubase 9.5 and various instruments and plug-ins!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-soundcloud wp-block-embed-soundcloud wp-embed-aspect-1-1 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"La Belle Dame Sans Merci by Kenny Wilson\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?visual=true&#038;url=https%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F914854729&#038;show_artwork=true&#038;maxheight=750&#038;maxwidth=500\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse\">\u00a0\n\nO what can ail thee, knight-at-arms,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Alone and palely loitering?\nThe sedge has withered from the lake,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And no birds sing.\n\u00a0\nO what can ail thee, knight-at-arms,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 So haggard and so woe-begone?\nThe squirrel\u2019s granary is full,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And the harvest\u2019s done.\n\u00a0\nI see a lily on thy brow,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 With anguish moist and fever-dew,\nAnd on thy cheeks a fading rose\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fast withereth too.\n\u00a0\nI met a lady in the meads,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Full beautiful\u2014a faery\u2019s child,\nHer hair was long, her foot was light,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And her eyes were wild.\n\u00a0\nI made a garland for her head,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And bracelets too, and fragrant zone;\nShe looked at me as she did love,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And made sweet moan\n\u00a0\nI set her on my pacing steed,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And nothing else saw all day long,\nFor sidelong would she bend, and sing\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A faery\u2019s song.\n\u00a0\nShe found me roots of relish sweet,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And honey wild, and manna-dew,\nAnd sure in language strange she said\u2014\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u2018I love thee true\u2019.\n\u00a0\nShe took me to her Elfin grot,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And there she wept and sighed full sore,\nAnd there I shut her wild wild eyes\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 With kisses four.\n\u00a0\nAnd there she lull\u00e8d me asleep,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And there I dreamed\u2014Ah! woe betide!\u2014\nThe latest dream I ever dreamt\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On the cold hill side.\n\u00a0\nI saw pale kings and princes too,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pale warriors, death-pale were they all;\nThey cried\u2014\u2018La Belle Dame sans Merci\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Thee hath in thrall!\u2019\n\u00a0\nI saw their starved lips in the gloam,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 With horrid warning gap\u00e8d wide,\nAnd I awoke and found me here,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On the cold hill\u2019s side.\n\u00a0\nAnd this is why I sojourn here,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Alone and palely loitering,\nThough the sedge is withered from the lake,\nAnd no birds sing.\n\n<\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have started a new project setting works of the Romantic Poets to music.
